What is Non-woven fabric

Nonwoven fabric is a kind of material similar to fabric, which is made of short fibers and long fibers ( also called continuous long fibers) and bonded together by chemical, mechanical, thermal or solvent treatment. The term is used in textile manufacturing to denote fabrics that are neither woven nor knitted, such as felt. Some nonwovens lack sufficient strength unless densified or reinforced by backing. In recent years, nonwovens fabrics have become a substitute for polyurethane foam. Actually, dot nonwoven fabric belongs to ordinary nonwoven fabrics.

Non woven fabrics are lighter and weaker than woven or knitted fabrics. Nonwoven materials are not suitable for producing durable clothing because of their weak memory and washing durability.
